Research is one of the significant functions of a well-performing higher educational institution (HEI), the other two being instruction and community extension. Consequently, research has been given a crucial weight in the Colegioās accreditation. Coherent with the Colegioās mission of quality formation of integral human persons in the noble tradition of excellence; LETRAN is dynamic in the continual faculty and student development program on research capability building.

The Research Office is committed to the Dominican Spirit of education and research development imbued with the three pillars (Quality Instruction, Research and Extensions) of higher education by: Institutionalizing mindset essential in developing research driven culture in collaborative partnership with the faculty, staff and students. Providing impactful researches that enhances academic, human and physical resources towards building a strong research community.

The Research Office envisions a research-oriented institution, promoting programs that shall serve the needs of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Bataan in generating research-based knowledge necessary to pro-actively respond to the needs of the dynamic milieu of the institutional, regional, national and global academic environments, imbued with the social commitment of improving and fostering human and community potentials.
Research Agenda
To advance the institutionās mission of evangelization through education by fostering research-driven innovation, ethical collaboration, and sustainable practices. Grounded in Catholic and Dominican values and inspired by a deep devotion to Mary, this agenda seeks to fulfill its commitment to academic excellence, holistic human formation, and societal impact, positioning the institution as a leading educational center in Region III by 2031.
1. INNOVATION IN EDUCATION AND INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT
This agenda aims to enhance Catholic and Dominican education by integrating emerging technologies such as AI, VR, and other digital tools in a way that respects and aligns with Catholic values. These technologies will be used to create more engaging and compelling learning experiences, while ensuring that innovation remains deeply rooted in tradition. Additionally, the agenda promotes the advancement of innovative pedagogical strategies, including active learning and problem-based learning, to foster critical thinking and holistic development within faith-based institutions. A key focus is curricula design that harmonizes academic excellence with ethical leadership and faith formation, preparing students for professional success and moral responsibility. Furthermore, the agenda explores best practices for hybrid and distance learning to strengthen digital transformation in Catholic educational institutions, ensuring accessibility and adaptability in an evolving educational landscape.

This agenda is a call to action for all of us, educators, administrators, and stakeholders in Catholic and Dominican educational institutions. Our role in enhancing international collaboration and academic exchange among Catholic and Dominican institutions is crucial, fostering a global knowledge-sharing network and innovation. Likha is an annual scholarly journal of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran- Bataan published in February. It seeks to provide a platform for original, peer-reviewed academic and scholarly articles which is multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary in scope. It welcomes theoretical, conceptual, and empirical papers, reviews and meta-analysis that combine a wide range of quantitative and qualitative approaches to research. Likha is a refereed journal; however, the opinion and accuracy of information in the published articles are the responsibility of the authors and not of the editorial staff.
Instruction to the Author (Likha)
Likha is an annual scholarly journal of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran- Bataan published in February. It seeks to provide a platform for original, peer-reviewed academic and scholarly articles which is multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary in scope.
Manuscripts submitted are evaluated on the following criteria:
1. Well-grounded theoretical frameworks
2. Relevant research literature
3. Careful analysis of constructs
4. Significant knowledge contribution
5. Clarity of expression
1. Research articles (6,000 words), notes (2,500 words), and book reviews (1,500 words) are accepted.
2. Submit via electronic MS-Word format to research@letranbataan.edu.ph.
3. Content must be original and not concurrently submitted elsewhere.
1. Abstract must be 150-200 words containing 2-6 keywords.
2. Standard Letter size, Times New Roman, 12pt font, single-spaced, justified paragraph style with 1-inch margins.
Title Page: Needs author info, institutional affiliations, titles, addresses, and contacts.
Main Document: Contains title, abstract, intro, method, results, discussion, and reference blocks without metadata names to preserve anonymity during blind review.
Employs double-blind validation mechanics evaluated systematically under strict matrices: Introduction, Appropriateness of Methodology, Results and Discussion, Clarity, Documentation, and overall Contribution.
Authors will be required to execute a "Transfer of Copyright" document layout immediately upon official acceptance prior to print processing configurations.
Anti-plagiarism policies are strictly enforced. Unauthorized distribution or layout leaks prior to distribution are restricted to preserve peer authentication limits.
Linang is an annual scholarly refereed journal of Colegio de San Juan de Letran-Bataan. As a multidisciplinary research journal, it welcomes researches from the junior high school, senior high school and undergraduate students of the Colegio. It provides an avenue to highlight academic achievements, innovative project evaluations, and peer-reviewed work tailored to multiple structural tiers across the student body environment.
Instruction to the Author (Linang)
Linang is an annual scholarly refereed journal welcoming submissions covering high school and undergraduate level milestones handled via standard review channels.
Aside from the top 3 papers recommended by program chairs, open calls run seasonally. Submissions require complete advisor recommendations along with separate identified ("not for review") and anonymized ("for review") layout sheets.
1. Initial editor screenings match scope compatibility rules.
2. Rigorous double-blind refereeing follows.
3. Accepted revisions must return within 2 weeks with completed Form SR18 sheets attached.
