THE RECTOR'S SCHOLARSHIP

Colegio de San Juan de Letran provides an opportunity for the academically outstanding students to pursue their education through the Rector’s Scholarship Program. The Program is part of Letran’s commitment to academic excellence and dedication to outstanding scholastic achievement.

ELIGIBILTY

Only freshmen students of the following courses are eligible to apply in the Program:

Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
Bachelor of Arts in Communication
Bachelor in Secondary Education

CRITERIA/QUALIFICATIONS

To qualify, the student-applicant shall:

Belong to the top 10% of the graduating batch, as certified by the Principal or the Registrar.
Pass the Letran’s Entrance Exams and the Rector’s Scholarship qualifying examinations given by the Colegio.
Pass the interview to be administered by the scholarship committee with the respective academic heads.
Be of good moral character as certified by the High School Principal/ Guidance Counselor.

The Rector’s scholars shall enjoy the following:

Full discount on tuition, miscellaneous and various fees
Monthly allowance

RETENTION POLICY

To maintain scholarship, the Rector’s scholars must:

Have a general weighted average (GWA) of 95 with no grade lower than 88.
Be an officer or active member of any recognized organizations in the Colegio.
Be an active member of the Colegio’s and/or Department’s outreach programs.
Be involved in academic research.
Have not been subjected to any disciplinary action.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP

The Academic Scholarship Program provides a competitive, merit-based financial assitance to the students of the Colegio who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement.

ELIGIBILTY

Entrance Scholarship

All valedictorians and salutatorians entering the first year level of the collegiate departments of the Colegio are eligible to apply in the Program. This scholarship grant is valid only for the initial semester.

Valedictorians are given 100% discount in tuition fees
Salutatorians are given 50% discount in tuition fees

Resident Scholarship

Any student of the Colegio shall avail of the academic scholarship based on his/her performance in a given semester. To qualify, the student-applicant must:

Have a general weighted average(GWA) of 90% and above;
Have no grade below 85;
Have no INC grade;
Not have withdrawn any enrolled subject;
Carry the load prescribed for the given semester
Not have been subjected to any disciplinary action

BENEFITS/PRIVILEGES

Valedictorians and salutatorians shall enjoy an initial scholarship grant of 100% and 50% discounts on tuition fees, respectively. Resident scholars shall enjoy the following:

With a general weighted average(GWA) of 96-100, a 100% discount on tuition fee during the succeeding semester.
With a general weighted average(GWA) of 93-95, a 50% discount on tuition fee during the succeeding semester.
With a general weighted average(GWA) of 90-92, a 25% discount on tuition fee during the succeeding semester.

STUDENT ASSISTANTSHIP PROGRAM

The Student Assistantship Program(SAP) aims to support the Colegio in achieving its mission and vision by extending its resources to financially handicapped but deserving and intellectually capable students. It is designed to enable the students to pursue their college education by working part time in the different offices of the Colegio. This affords them training and makes them realize the value and dignity of labor.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a Filipino citizen.
Must pass the Letran College Admission Test.
Average grade not less than 82% (previous semester for higher years) and 85% (for freshmen);
No failing grades incurred in all semesters (for higher years)
Belongs to a family whose gross income does not exceed Php 300,000.00

PROCEDURE FOR APPLICATION

Submit the accomplished and signed application form together with the complete requirements
Undergo series of interviews as scheduled.

BENEFITS/PRIVILEGES

50%-100% defrayal of the tuition fees based on 18-unit load and monthly stipend

REQUIREMENTS

The applicant must submit the following to the Office of the Student and Cultural Affairs (OSACA):

Accomplished and signed SAP application form (to be secured from the Admission’s Office);
Photocopy/Print-out of the Letran College Admission Test result (for freshmen only)
Photocopy of Form 138/137 (for freshmen);
Photocopy of Transcript of Records (for higher years);
Parent's/Guardian's Letter of Consent;
Photocopy of Baptismal Certificate;
Photocopy of the latest ITR/Certification of non-filing of ITR from the BIR with attached affidavit/Proof of income of Parents(Contracts for OFW/pay slips);
Barangay Clearance (sketch of residence at the back);
2 copies of 2" x 2" colored ID Pictures
